There's a wide world outside

Out of all of the readings for this week I found Berman's to be the most interesting.  I think a lot of people feel disconnected at times as they focus on a scholastic or other individual goal.  I have thrown away days completing projects on the computer with very little interaction with others.  Although these pursuits may result in success, there is something missing.  We cannot stay locked away behind our screens, void of any interaction beyond digital.

My communities

The communities I belong to are http://www.gamefaqs.com and http://www.fannation.com/community/
I have always heard the term "wiki" is reference to computer terms i.e. wikipedia, wikileaks etc. But it was not until today that I learned what it really means; something that is edible by a group. Now having that information it makes me think about the controversy involving Julian Assange, and WikiLeaks. This site is a whistle blowing venue for government, and their policies. There was concern that this would pose possible threats to national security. Maybe I am natiive, but that does not seem a big concern to me. If WikiLeaks is edible like WikiPedia, then what is the concern? There should not be too weight put on documents that are being edited by the general population. I would imagine that most of the imformation is just wishful thinking, not actual fact. I am sure that are some facts, but not enough to pose a real threat to national security.

Second link

http://www.rottentomatoes.com/vine/forumdisplay.php?f=2- This is a link to a user based movie review site. I really enjoy movies, and I use this site to get accurate reviews by other movie lovers. I find their reviews better than most pretentious movie critics.

My Links

Hello Group,

Here are the links to the two groups I have joined.

The first is a group for freelance production people. I use this a resource to find work in the production world. It has been a successful tool for me and the other link is to a group named, "Creative Cow". It is a really good place to learn and ask questions about anything production/media related.

First Class Session

I really enjoyed the first class. I think we have a very dynamic group and I am looking forward to getting to know everyone as well as learning from each person in class. I also like how it is structured. I will enjoy the readings, discussion and getting more involved into the blogging community.

Welcome to the MDST 210 blog!

Hi all,
